Lots of stuff to think about
It’s been a busy time of it, over the last few days.
Yesterday I had my appointment at Addenbrookes Hospital, Gastroenterology.
You may recall that I had various problems trying to book this, when the new “choose and book” system gave me a choice of three hospitals, all with no available appointments for the foreseeable future. However this was in the way, I made it.
We discussed the problems that I’d been having over the last few months and years. To be honest, it has been almost as long as I can recall, on and off, depending on what I’d been eating at the time. I’ll spare you from the details, but I’m not throwing up.
Various blood tests were done and sent off, and in passing, the doctor that I saw asked if our food included bread, pastas etc. Yes, so another sample was requested, for the purpose of testing for (and this is where my crap spelling is going to let me down!) Coeliac (wheat resistance). If it is not this, then it will more than likely be IBS.
But it’s given me something to think about. A lot of things with bread, wheat, flour in it has given me some problems. Sometimes I might get off with it once, but not the second time. Whatever the problem, i.e. IBS or wheat resistance, or some derivative, I am closer to getting this problem resolved, and certainly for the first time for as long as I can remember, there could be a way out.
I was given a “low fibre” menu by the hospital, although I am probably going to experiment with some of that, and some gluten free stuff. Just in case. Would be ironic if this made me worse! Lol!
When I saw the doctor today, I asked if the blood results were back. The one for wheat resistance will take a bit longer, but the rest are all there. The rest would point towards my body fighting off something – might explain the way I’d been feeling of late. We also discussed increasing my other meds (to help when I’m not feeling good, and I’ve been a bit under for a few days now!) so I’m now on two a night of the Fluoxtine Hydrochloride. This is also known as Prozac, and I’m not trying to hide it!
As for a “State of the Suzy”, let’s see how the next month goes.
For the bus enthusiasts, yes I know there are 50 brand new Enviro400’s (well, most of them have been delivered) running around Cambridge. See above! I did take a few more snaps for you yesterday, and will try and get some more in Cambridge tomorrow.
Oh yeah, and on a closing note, I’ve just downloaded Now 75 via iTunes, £12.99. Last time, N74 was £17.99 on iTunes, so when I saw 75 on pre-release from Play.com at £9.99, I went for it. Only problem was, several phone calls and ten days later, and I still can’t download it – the web browser blames a server issue! They refused to accept liability for not supplying, the bank would not have it either. So, one more phone call to ask for a manager – never got one, but got my £9.99 refunded (or I will do within the next few days). Aarrgh… maybe I should be a little less anal (joke!) about such things!
