A weekend just gone
Jan. 27th, 2008 08:02 pmFriday was a quiet one, the main highlight being Caroline’s op date announcement! We went out late-night shopping as ever, and it spilled into Saturday morning! Perhaps highlight of the lot was another new jacket that I found… well, in my eyes at least – less than half-price!
Saturday, we had a Burns Night dinner for
the_local_echo and
auntysarah. They came down by train from Cambridge (Sylvia has already beat me to reporting it!), and Caroline prepared her soup, the Haggis that I ‘imported’ earlier in the week (see Scottish trip post), and then a desert made from raspberries, cream, whisky (not in either of our two), or honey (not in hers – ironically, my hunney doesn’t like honey. We had a barrel of laughs in Tesco on Friday with that one, I tell you!)
I’d brought some CD’s and DVD’s down to add to my library here, and one of these was a Rab C Nesbitt DVD – of his visit to Spain from many years ago, so we showed that (in place of something more Scottish), and finished off the evening with a movie that S&S hadn’t seen yet – Ratatouille. We dropped them back off at Royston train station shortly after 2200.
Sunday has been mostly at work on our computers, typing and tidying! C is now relaxing in the bath, while I attempt to round-up happenings in my LiveJournal.
Oh yeah, and from this week, I am going to be doing two afternoons a week at work, for the next few weeks. This will allow me to try and do a bit more in the short time, see if I can. If that all goes to plan, then I intend to disappear up/down the M6 several times in March, as I will be moving away from Dundee for the second time. Then, of course, C’s surgery in late April, takes us to early May. By that time, I’d have hopefully caught up with some other medical stuff that’s awaiting on me, and I’ve also got a few interesting ideas for the coming weeks and months. Keep reading!
