Friday out & about in Lincolnshire
Apr. 20th, 2007 11:03 pmWe then passed a genuine “family pub” called The Moody Cow - I’m not making a comparison here!
We got to Ingoldmells “Bus Station”, and took a Scania on the 1A all the way through to Skegness Bus Station David wanted to show me where my coach left from the next day. The coach park is immediately adjacent, and I was able to get some local travel information (beyond what I was able to get from the TIC). We had another pub visit, before I was asked if I’d take Jacqueline shopping, and then back to the caravan. This was so David could disappear and buy her a new mobile phone, and I was “in on it”. – although she obviously wasn’t.
On the return from Skegness to Ingoldmells, the first bus to come along was an open top Metrobus on Service 3 – that thrashy sound does take me back! I took her back to the caravan, where we (once again) had no lights! I had agreed to meet David at The Bell (so he can hand over the gift). Even with the gift in a Carphone Warehouse carrier bag, and even when it started to RING, Jacqueline still didn’t click what it was!
One further surprise was a closed top Metrobus, still in RoadCar colours, which we took from The Bell to Sea Lane, i.e. back to the caravan. Lights were still on when we got back, but we went out for one or two final night drinks before heading out. During the evening, I had a text from Caroline, mentioning an offer of heading out to meet a friend of hers on Sunday evening. We headed back to the caravan, and I could see that they were both starting to come down with some kind of virus. I just hoped it wouldn’t infect me, otherwise I could potentially infect half of England this weekend!
