Boldly going

Firstly, this morning, I heard the postman trying to put an envelope through Caroline’s door. I heard “scrunch, scrunch, push, scrunch, knock, knock”… in other words, try to get it through, give up, and hand it over. “Oooh, it’s a big envelope… it’s for you” she said. Yes, it’s my dead-tree-and-plastic copy of the Peterborough Bus Timetable booklet – available online as pdf’s. £5.00 gets you a copy posted to your door, plus updates for the rest of the year (postal address also on the webpage). It is a blue plastic A5 D-ringbinder, with a wide range of map sections. The map is like a 38 page atlas of every street and farm across the county, with every bus stop, including “text & go” information codes. There is also a short walk around town, and detailed timetable and fare information. Well recommended.

Anyway, I went out myself to Cambridge for the day, partially for a change of scenery, but I did have something else in mind too. I walked up to Royston Tesco for cash, and then waited for the 26 – Volvo Olympian 16023 took me north.


Once I arrived at Cambridge, a surprise – former Travel Dundee Dart/Plaxton K916 FVC is now 3220 with Huntingdon & District. I saw the sister (K918) twelve days ago, but didn’t expect to see this in Cambridge.


I also got some pictures of the assorted coloured Park & Ride Tridents, which I believe are to be replaced by 21 new Enviro400 double deckers soonish. See if you can spot all three “line” colours in these pictures…



… and then, for some “me” time. Yes, I’d been promising that I’d need to do this soon enough. The time had came. You know I don’t fear pain, and everyone else had told me how it didn’t hurt (don’t they always). Well, I sat on the chair, relaxed… little prick in… then looked towards… and now, I’ve got my first ear piercing in! Just thought you should know… only taken how long?
