Not a good Tuesday
Jun. 26th, 2007 10:37 pmNeoplan 50148 was on the Megabus M11 heading north from London back to Dundee. Due to issues with loading the luggage, we were still parked in Bullied Way at 2345. Then, to get from the M40, avoid the roadworks, and get to Rugby for a driver change, we went via the A421 I think. So many roundabouts! Most people upstairs were unable to sleep, and I genuinely felt travel sick, for the first time since I was at primary school! Anyway, we changed drivers there, and that seemed to be better.
Upon arrival at Dundee, Tails Prower 2040 met up with me, and I headed home to drop off the bags before breakfast/lunch. I got home – no lights on the staircase. This has happened before, and the solution is to unscrew one screw, which holds in a large piece of wood, which covers the fuses. No screwdriver, and can’t get upstairs for one, so I used a desk drawer key to try to prize my way in. Got in there – the fuses are now locked away, so I can’t get in at all! Tried going upstairs with no lights at all, only to find once you get passed the first lot of stairs, the lights were on after all! Got home, got back out again, went for food, and then I went back home.
To add to the building works at the High School, the lights and noise from the car park, ring road and underpass, the pub downstairs is now undergoing refurbishment. This makes me think I could be living in a building site here!
I had an appointment with the doctor at 1450 – but I had a nap, and ended up waking up too late. I made it to the surgery, but ended up seeing someone else instead. I felt a combination of tiredness, frustration; as well as feeling I’d let everyone down by sleeping in. There was no way though that it could have been avoided.
Just a long, hard cry, and an early night.
