Tales of the Unexpected
Jul. 4th, 2007 10:51 pmHere’s one for the “how the f**k did I manage that?” collection.
Checked myself, and new piercings, in the mirror. My left was the side where I had a headache yesterday (unusually on one side). Checked – the left is a bit swollen. It looked like it was trying to swell up again, and the stud was starting to retract. I was able to get the head back so it stood out, with my fingers.
By the afternoon, the head of my ear piercing stud had disappeared within the lobe completely!
Caroline came back from work, and called her doctor’s surgery. After discussion about getting an appointment with the nurse, and explaining it was for a visitor, they then asked what it was for. After explaining the situation, she was put on hold… and then, referred to A&E.
As it was getting into the evening, I decided to leave it until the morning – especially if they would probably need to cut into my ear. Naturally, I was rather concerned at this!
