Quieter Saturday
Jul. 28th, 2007 10:36 pmFirst things first. A good friend of mine, Paul H, yesterday worked his last day for Travel West Midlands. Yes, he's moving back to his native Yorkshire to work for Transdev, and his partner has also managed to find a secondment which suits them both, and they've got a new place to move in... and they managed to sell up in Brum quickly, and without an agent... seems as if someone is having a very good string of luck, but it is well deserved! Best of luck to the both of you.
David & Jacqui got the early train back to Barnsley (from Cambridge) so this meant we could stay at home a little longer, before going out. Shortly before we left the house, Caroline tried to pick me up, and succeded. I thought "I should be able to do that"... tried, lost my balance, headed backward, and hit myself off a chair. No damage to the furniture (luckily), but a bit of a bruise to my lower back, with a cut to match. Ouch, won't be doing that again. Slight despair and hope that I never need to try that in a more desperate situation.
So, I had a slightly longer nap, and we eventually went into Cambridge. Change of plan meant I went straight to Milton Road Library, to view some timetables that had been left for my viewing! Remember I mentioned Central Library Cambridge had a wide range of UK regional timetables? They are not in any one specific library, but you can ask for them to be placed in a Cambridge city library of your choice, if you contact them in advance to ask! Not a lot for Scotland, but quite a good selection for the rest of England.
Anyway, after that, we went shopping for a few bits from PC World, then to Jayne's for the evening, before heading back home. More fireworks on the way home, but I am not sure where they came from this weekend!
