Another busy day, for many reasons! Started on the 0926 from Tesco/0932 from Royston Burns Road (Roysia Sugery turning circle) 26 bus to Cambridge. It ended up coming in a little late, so I boarded the journey as it was heading around Royston town i.e. the opposite side of Old North Road to where I'd normally get on it. After this, I walked down Emmanuel Street for a citi2 bus to Chesterton Road. Remember I said I was going to the dentist?

That's right - for the first time in four years. (I figure with everything else going on around the same time, the pain may float away... here's hoping lol!)

I arrived with more than ten minutes to spare (the dentist has more sticky backed plastic on the windows than the sex shop next door), and met a dentist by the name of Sarah (this may well screw with your minds as you keep reading, but bear with me). The one remaining ear stud came out for a bit, to allow for x-rays to be taken. The initial treatment plan depends on many things (including what the x-rays show), but replacement of the front upper may be tried again. There is also a few fillings, and there is the potential for an extraction - which may have to be done externally.

So, that was it, and I proceeded via Staples (Mitchams Corner branch) on route to the JCP further down Chesterton Road (time to walk in the rain and blowing winds!). Quick enough in and out, but it was returning the cheque (which had to go to another desk) that caused most of the delay.

Back into the city centre, quick bite for lunch, then down to visit
[personal profile] auntysarah - and also, [personal profile] the_local_echo who was working from home for the day (her new tricycle was parked up in the doorway). They had just taken delivery of a very large new Mac desktop, which featured a very minimalist (but surprisingly heavy, despite being created from aluminum) keyboard. As Sylvia said, "Isn't it shiny?"

Recent events were also discussed, including the loss of their slightly sick snake, Ketzy. I asked about the full name Quetzlcoatl, pronounced ketsie-cottie, who was the Aztec god of the serpents. Well, I didn't know..

I'd got soaked on the way round, so thankfully things had dried when I left mid-afternoon, back to central Cambridge, then back to Royston on the 26. Went home briefly, before returning to Tesco for a number of items for this weekend... and Caroline picked me up in the Landcruiser, before we had a quick snack, then returned out to north Cambridge to meet Jayne - via Staples (Mitchams Corner)...

We had an excellent evening out, before I began to flag after sixteen hours awake! (lol)
