Sleep and more
Feb. 4th, 2008 03:59 pmOn reflection, it’s been a productive morning. Unfortunately, I could not sleep last night for quite a while, and unusually for me, I kept waking during the night too. It’s happening a few times right now, and adds to my existing issues. It’s not good for Caroline either, as I keep waking her up with it.
Anyway, I had to go back to the docs today for more paperwork, and Caroline wanted to see them too. She had suggested that I made an appointment to see her doctor, who she recommended. We met up at the surgery in time for our appointments at 1210 & 1230, and we both went in together. We got out around half an hour later. In my case, I explained the situation. While this may or may not be related, he’s given me something I’ve not had before – an antihistamine called Hydroxyzine.
This will be a replacement (if it works) for the Fexofenadine Hydrochloride (and the accompanying Ranitidine) tablets, and are intended to help me GET to sleep as well. The package has been labelled as ‘Take one or two’, and I can experiment with those. He’s also got me to come back later in the week for bloods, just in case. Also, he will be chasing up Addenbrooke’s re ongoing genetics appointment wait.
A lot better/nicer/more polite than the guy I’d been allocated at that surgery – and he wasn’t showing me the door (like the doc that I’d had there on the last two occasions). Once again, it’s not what you do, but how you do it, that I remember.
