In the good news... I've been feeling a bit sluggish, C thought it was an infection. It's starting to clear (I had a swollen gum for most of the weekend, and the end of last week).

In the bad news... now C is feeling bad, and she's in bed recovering with a bad nose/cold type thing. Not what I had... but she is taking it easy just now.

So, might have time to catch up with recent developments, and post some videos that I've found over the last 24 hours or so...

I started browsing YouTube last night, and found a few interesting ones. Firstly, a very early American cell phone ad, from 19 years ago. Check out that brick!

(BTW, if a bus operator starts using the tagline "where people connect". remember where you heard it first/last...)

You might think he is trying to sell the PC... I did...

OK, speaking of operating systems, who remembers OS/2 Warp? No-one? Anyone at the back?

Do you remember the launch of Windows 95? Of course you do, because Microsoft spent lots of money with the Rolling Stone's "Start Me Up" in the background.

Well, just listen to this...

Now I've got Vista on the PC laptop and OS X on the PowerBook, I am starting to see the similarities, but it's not just me. Some people have mistaken OS X for Vista... maybe it's not just us...

... here is an advert from last year, where the girl shows she knows what she prefers!

Seeing as we are all probably hungry by this point of the day...!

Last Friday, I stopped at a Greggs bakers store in Hertford, and got a few bits to munch on the GreenLine (see previous posts about last weekend). As I'd had the Apple Danish before, I tried another of their unusual regional variations - a London Cheesecake.

It's not got cheese on (or in it), but it's a pastry square with some jam inside, and icing with coconut.

Upon discussing with [profile] thebustocrookes who had never heard of it either (and thought it was some kind  of innuendo! Would I? Hmm... anyway...), some later googling reveals a pic and an explanation, on this page.

Next, what is a Tottenham Cake, and why are they pink?
