Stagecoach in Fife would like to advise passengers of a number of service changes effective from 27th April 2009. Below is a summary of the changes, the new timetables will be available on this website and on buses and travel shops in the next few weeks.
Services 6,6A,6B (Leven – Kirkcaldy) These services will be revised to operate every 20 minutes between Leven bus station and Kirkcaldy bus station, with all journeys following a common route via Methilhill, Muiredge, East Wemyss and Coaltown of Wemyss, before following three separate routes within Kirkcaldy – 6 via Boreland, Park Road/Lawson Street and Victoria Hospital; 6A via Loughborough Road and Victoria Hospital; 6B via Windmill Road, Oswald Road, Overton Road and Victoria Hospital. The section of route between Mountfleurie and Leven will be served by service 13 throughout the day. The section of route between Kirkcaldy and Burntisland will be replaced by the increased frequency on revised services 7/7A.
Service 7,7A (Leven – Kirkcaldy - Dunfermline) This service will be improved to operate every 20 minutes for much of the day, with one journey per hour numbered 7A, operating via Aberhill (instead of Lower Methil), Kilcruik Road in Kinghorn, and the Greenmount Road area of Burntisland. Additional peak time journeys will also be introduced between Dunfermline and Dalgety Bay.
Service 13 (Leven – Kirkcaldy) The service will operate to/from Mountfleurie throughout the day, and follow a revised route within Kirkcaldy serving Victoria Hospital on both inward and outward journeys. It will also be extended from the bus station to John Smith Business Park via the Raith estate. The timetable will also be revised to improve reliability.
Service 18 (Kelty – Kirkcaldy) This service will operate a revised route within Kirkcaldy, serving Chapel Level, Longbraes, Sauchenbush, Milton Road, Bus Station and Ravenscraig. The Raith estate will now be served by revised route 13.
Service 20 (Lochgelly town service) The section of route serving the Russell Street area will now be operated by service 34 buses terminating at Lochgelly.
Service 31 (Glenrothes - Dollar) The 1042 Dollar to Glenrothes journey will be revised to operate 45 minutes earlier at 0957.
Service 32 (Glenrothes – Cardenden - Kirkcaldy) A revised route and timetable will be introduced. Within Kirkcaldy buses will serve Chapel Level, Broom Road, Dallas Drive, Brodick Road, Valley Gardens, Victoria Hospital, Meldrum Road.
Service 33 (Dunfermline – Cardenden – Kirkcaldy) Most journeys on this service will no longer operate via Dundonald or the Corrie Centre in Cardenden. Alternative facilities will be available on revised services 32 and 34.
Service 34 (Ballingry – Cardenden – Kirkcaldy) A revised route and timetable will be introduced. Most buses will now serve Dundonald and the Corrie Centre in Cardenden, although will no longer serve Harris Drive in Kirkcaldy which will instead be covered by services K1 (daytime) and K5 (evenings and Sundays).
Service 37 (Pitcairn - Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy) Minor timetable alterations introduced to improve reliability, and minor route change through Mitchelston industrial estate on morning journeys.
Services 39,39A (Newcastle – Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy) Minor timetable alterations introduced to improve reliability.
Service 40,40A (Cadham/Collydean – Glenrothes – Woodside) Minor timetable alterations introduced during the evening peak period.
Service 42 (Cupar – Tayport – Dundee – Ninewells Hospital) Minor timetable alterations at peak times to improve reliability, and route revised to operate via Tom McDonald Avenue instead of Ninewells Avenue.
Services 43,44 (Leven - Glenrothes - Whitehill) On Mondays to Fridays the 1602 Leven to Whitehill and 1646 Whitehill to Leven journeys will operate 5 minutes later, and a new journey will be introduced from Glenrothes bus station to Whitehill at 1624.
Services 48,49 (Leven – Kennoway – Denhead/Bonnybank - Buckhaven – Leven Circulars) One journey per hour in each direction will be revised to operate via Aberhill and Kinnarchie Brae instead of Lower Methil. Buses via Lower Methill will continue to operate as 48 or 49, with buses via Aberhill showing 48A or 49A.
Service 50 (Leven - Methilhill) This service will be withdrawn and replaced by improved services 6,6A,6B.
Service 52 (Casan – Leven - Muiredge) This service will be revised to serve most of Den Walk, including a new service for Ward Street. Minor timetable alterations will be introduced. See services 7A and 48A,49A for alternative services via Kinnarchie Brae and Aberhill.
Service 53 (Dalgety Bay – Edinburgh) Most off-peak journeys will be revised to serve Fraser Avenue/Spencerfield Road in Inverkeithing, with consequential timing alterations between Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay at these times.
Service 55 (Dunfermline - Edinburgh) The following Monday to Friday journeys will operate 5 minutes later: 0640, 0710 Edinburgh to Dunfermline and 1703 Dunfermline to Edinburgh.
Services 64,64A (St.Andrews – Cupar – Ladybank – Auchtermuchty/Falkland) These services will be revised to operate in two connecting sections: St.Andrews – Ladybank via Bogward, Carigtoun Park, Strathkinness, Ceres, Cupar and Springfield; and Ladybank – Auchtermuchty/Falkland circular. In the vast majority of occasions passengers travelling across Ladybank will not need to change buses. The current hourly timetable will be maintained with some minor adjustments to the timings.
Services 66,66A,66B (Glenrothes – Strathmiglo – Burnside/Auchtermuchty) Some minor timetable alterations will be introduced.
Service 68 (Cupar town service) This service will divert to serve the bus turning circle within the rail station car park. There will be no change to the timetable.
Service 71,71A (Dunfermline/Kincardine – Crombie - Inverkeithing) Journeys operating to/from Kincardine will be numbered 71A, and revised slightly to improve connections at Inverkeithing rail station. Rosyth Europarc and Ferry Terminal will also be served on certain journeys.
Service 72 (Steelend – High Valleyfield/Culross) This new service provided by Rennies will operate three times per day linking the West Fife villages with High/Low Valleyfield and Culross. In addition an evening peak journey will be provided by Stagecoach which will also serve Kincardine.
Service 73 (Dunfermline – Alloa – Stirling) This service will be withdrawn and replaced by improvements to service 78 operating via Kincardine, Clackmannan, Alloa and Tullibody.
Service 74 (Dunfermline – Blairhall) This service will be revised to operate between Dunfermline and Blairhall only, with a revised timetable introduced. For much of the day Parkneuk and East Baldridge will be served by revised service 76.
Service 75 (Dunfermline – Steelend) The 0617 Oakley to Dunfermline journey will operate 5 minutes earlier on Mondays to Fridays. Journeys serving Porterfield will now operate via Bickram Crescent.
Service 76 (Crombie – Dunfermline – Parkneuk/Wellwood) This service will be extended to serve East Baldridge and Parkneuk during Monday to Saturday daytime. In addition, between approx 0930 and 1430 buses will terminate at Charlestown and the section of route between Charlestown and Crombie will not therefore be served at these times. However, service 71 will continue to provide an alternative off-peak hourly service for Crombie.
Services 78,78A (Dunfermline – High Valleyfield – Stirling/Falkirk) The journeys currently terminating at Kincardine will generally be extended to/from Stirling via Clackmannan, Alloa and Tullibody, with additional journeys also provided between Alloa and Stirling. All journeys to/from Falkirk will serve Kincardine High Street and be numbered 78A. The timetable between Dunfermline and High Valleyfield will remain largely unchanged.
Services 79,79A (Dunfermline – Kelty) This service will be revised to operate every 30 minutes for much of the day between Kelty and Dunfermline only. Timings will be revised to better coordinate with services 30 and 33 thus providing a bus approximately every 15 minutes between Dunfermline bus station and Queen Margaret Hospital during the day. Improved services 7,7A and 80,80A,80B along with new service 81 will provide alternative facilities between Dunfermline and Rosyth/Inverkeithing/Dalgety Bay.
Service 80,80A,80B (Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Dalgety Bay) These services will be improved to operate every 20 minutes during the day with all routes operating via Aberdour Road and Duloch Park. Service 80 will also serve Pitcorthie, McKay Drive and The Bridges. Service 80A will also serve Izatt Avenue, Asda/Hillend industrial estate and Moray Way South. Service 80B will also serve McKay Drive, Hillend, St.David’s Harbour and The Bridges.
New Service 81 (Dunfermline – Inverkeithing) This new off-peak service will operate every hour serving Queensferry Road, Middlebank Street, Rosyth crossroads and Inverkeithing, terminating at Fraser Avenue.
Service 83 (Inverkeithing town service) A new hourly link to Rosyth Europarc and Ferry Terminal will be incorporated into a revised route and timetable, with the section of route to Hillend and Dalgety Bay no longer served. See revised services 80A,80B for alternative facilities.
Service 93 (St.Andrews - Bogward) This service will be withdrawn and replaced by revised services 64,64A.
Service 95 (St.Andrews – Leven) On Mondays to Fridays the 1725 journey from St.Andrews will be extended to operate through to Leven. The 1827 journey from Colinsburgh to St.Andrews will be replaced by a new journey at 1820 from Leven to St.Andrews, and the 1910 Leven to St.Andrews journey will operate 10 minutes later. The 2335 Leven to Lower Largo journey will now operate Monday to Saturday, with a journey at 2315 on a Sunday evening.
Service 96 (St.Andrews – Tayport – Dundee – Ninewells Hospital) Minor timetable alterations at peak times to improve reliability, and route revised to operate via Tom McDonald Avenue instead of Ninewells Avenue.
Service 201 (Glenrothes – Kinross) Most journeys will be diverted to serve Westerlea in Leslie, with a minor change to timings as a result.
Service 747 (Dunfermline – Inverkeithing – Edinburgh Airport/Riccarton) Minor timetable alterations, including the 1630 and 1650 journeys from Inverkeithing operating to the Airport first, and then serving Gogarburn on the return journey.
Services D3 (Dunfermline – Pitcorthie - Duloch Park) This service will be revised to serve Dunfermline bus station and operate two way via Pitcorthie and then direct to Duloch Park. Masterton Road and Lapwing Drive will now be served by revised service D7. The evening and Sunday timetable will be unchanged, however buses will now show service D3A.
Service D7 (Townhill – Dunfermline – Duloch Park – North Queensferry) This service will be revised to operate every 15 minutes during the day between Townhill and Masterton Road at Windlebrook via the current route, with buses then continuing every 30 minutes to either Fife Leisure Park via Lapwing Drive and Sandpiper Drive, or to North Queensferry via Middlebank Street, Inverkeithing and Ferrytoll. The evening and Sunday service will continue to operate as presently.
Service G6 (Glenrothes - Caskieberran) The 1815 journey from Glenrothes bus station will be withdrawn.
Service K1 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Chapel Level) This service will be rerouted to serve Harris Drive and Lismore Avenue.
Service K4 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Dunnikier estate) The 0937 journey on a Sunday morning from Kirkcaldy bus station to Dunnikier and return will be revised to commence from the Dunnikier estate at 0937 arriving in the bus station at 0951.
Service K5 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Chapel Level) The evening and Sunday journeys will be revised to serve Lismore Avenue, Harris Drive and Lindores Drive, returning via Birnam Road and Fair Isle Road.
Service K8 (Linktown – bus station – Asda – Dysart/Boreland) Due to low passenger numbers this service will be withdrawn. However revised services 6,6A,6B will provide alternative facilities for certain sections of the route.
Service K10 (Chapel – Templehall – Asda) Unfortunately passenger numbers on this service introduced last year after previous public requests, have proved to be extremely low and the service will now be withdrawn. However revised services 13 and 32 will provide alternative facilities for certain sections of the route.
Service K13 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Raith/Longbraes) The route within the Raith estate will be revised slightly to operate via Balmoral Drive, Dunbar Place, Strathallan Drive and Dunvegan Avenue, with a minor change to the timetable as a result.
Service X1 (Leslie – Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy) Due to continuing difficulties serving the Kirk Drive area of Leslie, this service will now operate via Anderson Drive at all times. The route within Kirkcaldy will also be revised to operate via the full length of Victoria Road. The timetable will be revised accordingly, incorporating additional time on certain peak journeys to improve reliability.
Services X24 (St.Andrews – Glenrothes – Dunfermline - Glasgow) The evening peak timetable will be revised to reflect the improved traffic flow in the Kincardine area since the opening of the new bridge. In addition the timings of journeys through Cupar at peak times have been amended slightly to improve reliability. The 0640 (Mon – Fri) Dunfermline to St.Andrews journey will now start from Glenrothes at 0715, however a connection will be available using the 0630 service X42 from Dunfermline. The 2320 Dunfermline to Glasgow and 0030 Glasgow to Dunfermline journeys on a Friday and Saturday night will be withdrawn due to low passenger numbers.
Services X26,X27 (St.Andrews – Leven – Kirkcaldy - Dunfermline - Glasgow) The evening peak timetable will be revised to reflect the improved traffic flow in the Kincardine area since the opening of the new bridge. An additional X27 service will operate from Dunfermline to Kirkcaldy at 0755 on Monday to Friday.
New Service X51 (Dunfermline – Livingston) This new express service will provide 4 journeys in each direction between Dunfermline and Livingston on Saturdays and Sundays. Journeys will serve Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Ferrytoll and Kirkliston.
Service X54 (Dundee – Glenrothes – Dunfermline – Edinburgh) On Mondays to Fridays the 0810 journey from Dundee will terminate at Glenrothes, and the 1540 and 1640 journeys from Dundee will operate 5 minutes later. The 0750 Dunfermline to Dundee journey will now depart at 0745, and be retimed slightly between Dunfermline and Glenrothes.
Service X58 (St.Andrews – Leven - Kirkcaldy – Dalgety Bay - Edinburgh) All journeys on this service will now serve Forth Reach, The Bridges, and Oxcars Drive in Dalgety Bay. The timetable will be revised accordingly.
Service X59 (St.Andrews – Glenrothes – Edinburgh) Timings of journeys through Cupar at peak times will be revised slightly to improve reliability.
Service X60 (St.Andrews – Leven – Kirkcaldy – Edinburgh) The 1630 and 1730 journeys from Edinburgh will now terminate at Leven bus station, with the revised service 95 providing a connection for onward journeys to the East Neuk.
