Thursday in the Citi
Jul. 19th, 2007 04:51 pmWhen I went out today, there was nowt planned that I had to attend to - no planned appointments, for once!. Needed some more pockets from a shop in Royston town centre, so went via there and the bank agency before heading to Royston Bus Station, where Volvo Olympian 16091 took me on the 26 to central Cambridge.
Firstly, Stagecoach Cambridge and Bus Users UK were having a Bus Users Surgery right in the middle of the City. This involved bringing one of the new Enviro 200 single deck buses - due in service any day now - to Sidney Street, outside Boots. This is an unusual chance to snap up a bus in a pedestrian environment!

When the bus had been delivered, the light blue area around the top front was not applied, and it seems like that is how it will be - the bus is now fully lettered. On board, copies of the new citi4 timetable leaflets (one for the Cambourne service, and one for the Kings Hedges extension) were available, along with a new edition of the Cambridge citi bus guide. The latter now includes a map of out-of-town services.
After stopping for lunch at one of the wagons further up the precinct, I checked my phone - it was beeping - and I'd had a voicemail. Improptu appointment and return trip to the Vision Park in Histon. This business park reminded me of Stockley Park with the water streams and ducks!
Then, south again. See all today's pics here.
