New bus interchange at College Lane Campus
(adjacent to new Student Forum building) All unō bus routes will be diverted to serve the new facility when it opens in late September. Details of stop allocations will be published shortly.

Opening of new student forum

In view of the increased range of facilities that will be available at the new Forum complex it has been agreed that additional late night buses will be operated on the following routes:

Night Shuttle: This will operate between 2200 and 0330 and will provide a circular route linking the Student Forum with deHavilland Campus, Salisbury Village, Parkhouse Bus Station and the Galleria. This service will also operate throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays!
Bus 602: Later buses will operate every half hour to provide a link from the Forum to St Albans Station and City Centre and also Hatfield Station. In addition there will be an hourly service to Welwyn Garden City.
Bus 614 (Wed, Thurs and Fri nights): Additional late night buses will operate between Hatfield and Edgware to connect with night bus network.
Bus 634 (Wed, Thurs and Fri nights): Additional late night buses will operate to Stevenage.

New buses for route 602

From 14th September bus 602 will be re-launched with the delivery of nine brand new single deck buses – our biggest new vehicle order ever! The new vehicles are stylish Mercedes Citaro buses which will provide easier access, greater capacity and more comfort than the existing buses.
Bus 602 provides important public transport links across central Hertfordshire and operates between Hatfield, South Hatfield, College Lane, Galleria, deHavilland, Fleetville, St Albans rail station, St Alban City Centre, London Colney, Shenley, Radlett, Bushey and Watford.

Summary of changes by route

Day Shuttle (Park and Ride - College Lane Forum - deHavilland Campus): This route will now serve the new bus interchange and will now also run on weekends (between the Forum, deHavilland Campus and Parkhouse bus station only).
Night Shuttle (College Lane Forum - deHavilland - Salisbury Village - Parkhouse - College Lane Forum): The new route operates until 0330 (Tuesday to Sunday mornings) and until 0130 on Monday mornings.
601 (St Albans - Oaklands - deHavilland - Business Park - Welwyn Garden City): An additional journey will be provided at 0758 from Welwyn Garden City to cater for the large number of Oaklands College Students travelling at this time. The timings of the late afternoon journeys have been revised to improve reliability.
602 (Hatfield - St Albans - London Colney - Watford): The 0722 journey from Shenley to Hatfield will be revised so as to commence from Watford at 0640. Additional late evening journeys will be provided between St Albans, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City in conjunction with the opening of the Student Forum.
603 (Hatfield - Welwyn Garden City): Additional early morning journeys to be provided between South Hatfield and the Business Park.

614 (Hatfield - Edgware - Queensbury): Additional late night journeys operating direct between Hatfield and Edgware in conjunction with the opening of the Student Forum.
Minor timing revisions to some peak hour journeys to improve reliability.

620 (Hatfield - St Albans - Harpenden - Redbourn): The 1348 journey from Hatfield to Harpenden is revised to operate though to Redbourn. On Saturdays an additional journey will operate at 0753 from Wheathampstead to Hatfield.
632 (Hatfield - London Colney - Watford): Minor timing changes.
634/635 (Hitchin - Stevenage - Hatfield - Hemel Hempstead): Minor timing changes.
636 (Hatfield - Harpenden - Luton): All journeys will be diverted to serve Wheathampstead Village.

655 (Hatfield - St Albans - Borehamwood): In order to cater for the increased demand on this service the following additional journeys will be introduced:
0850 Borehamwood - Hatfield
1635 Hatfield - Borehamwood

S7/S9 (St Albans local service): In response to public demand journeys to Marshalswick (Skyswood Road) will operate in a circular route via Marshalswick Lane and Charmouth Road. This will restore the bus service to Charmouth Road.
The morning peak service will be revised to provide a link from Verulam Estate (0746) to Marshalswick (for Sandringham School). This journey will be numbered S8 and the return journey in the afternoon S9.
