The PDF edition of the timetable book is now availbile, and the main changes in the list are..


East Coast – The timetable and service pattern are broadly similar to May 2009 with the following
notable differences:
Mondays to Fridays
1449 Aberdeen to London Kings Cross will now depart at 1450.
1905 Leeds to London Kings Cross will no longer call at Newark North Gate, the 1810 Newcastle to
London Kings Cross will now call there.
0900 London Kings Cross to Glasgow will now call at Haymarket.
1500 London Kings Cross to Glasgow will now call at Darlington.
Saturdays
0905 London Kings Cross to Leeds will now depart at 0910.
1449 Aberdeen to London Kings Cross will now depart at 1450.
Sundays
1324 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will now depart at 1310 and will also call at Durham and
Northallerton.
1712 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will now depart at 1710 and will also call at Northallerton.
0938 Inverness to London Kings Cross will now depart at 0940.
1130 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross and the 1530 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross will no longer
call at Northallerton.
1050 Glasgow Central to London Kings Cross and the 1147 Aberdeen to London Kings Cross will no
longer call at Durham.
1550 Newcastle to London Kings Cross will now call at Durham.
2000 Edinburgh to York will now call at Northallerton to set down only.


East Midlands Trains
The Saturday St Pancras International to Scarborough service will revert back to the winter service as
far as York. There will be an improved service on Sheffield to London trains, with 2 trains per hour
running through to St Pancras International.


First Great Western
Additional weekday stops will be made at Radley on the 0758, 1457, 1957 London Paddington to
Oxford and the 1537, 1857 Oxford to London Paddington services. 0821 Oxford to London Paddington
Monday to Friday service makes additional stops at Taplow and Burnham. An additional service will
run on weekdays from Moreton-in-Marsh at 0929 to Oxford stopping at Kingham and Charlbury. 1755
Plymouth to Penzance stops additionally at Saltash on weekdays. 1639 Weston-super-Mare to Bristol
Temple Meads calls additionally at Weston Milton on weekdays.
On Sundays the 1103 London Paddington to Weston-super-Mare and the 1203 London Paddington to
Plymouth both terminate at Bristol Temple Meads while the 1303 London Paddington to Bristol Temple
Meads is extended to Plymouth. Additional services will operate between Exeter, Plymouth and Paignton
to replace former South West Trains services in this area.
Some connectional margins in Cornwall have been increased to better reflect the amount of time
necessary to change trains. Liskeard is now 6 minutes and Par and St Erth have been raised to 5.


London Overground will serve additional stations as part of first stage of the re-opening of the East
London line. These services will be shown on Table 178 and expect to start running services in
April 2010.


Scotrail – The improvements include:-
Half-hourly frequency Glasgow – Kilmarnock.
Additional hourly fast Glasgow Central – Edinburgh via Shotts service.
New early-morning services from Ayr, Gourock, Dumfries and North Berwick allowing earlier arrival in
London.


Southeastern – The December timetable sees the biggest change for 40 years.
Summary of the main train service changes
Peak periods
Brand New High Speed services to St Pancras International from both East and North Kent. Improved
frequency on the Hastings/Tunbridge Wells route. Improved frequency for metro routes into London
Cannon Street. Improved metro services between London Victoria and Orpington.
Off-peak and Saturdays
Brand New High Speed services to St Pancras International from both East and North Kent. Improved
services to/from Tunbridge Wells to London Charing Cross, increased to 4 train services an hour.
Improved services on the Bexleyheath line increased to 6 train services an hour between Lewisham
and Barnehurst. Improved services on the Grove Park to Orpington line increased to 4 train services
an hour between Hither Green and Orpington. Improved services via Greenwich to Slade Green all
trains to/from London Cannon Street increased to 6 an hour at 10 minutes intervals. Orpington to
Sevenoaks 2 train services an hour now calling at ALL stations. Improved frequency for Longfield and
Meopham to 3 train services an hour. The Medway Valley Service (train services that operate via
Maidstone West), extended to/from Tonbridge.
Sundays
Brand New High Speed services to St Pancras International from both East and North Kent improving
the calling pattern for train services between Hastings and London Charing Cross.


South West Trains will introduce an hourly service between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids,
but will cease to operate services west of Exeter.
