ta, it has taken some fiddling with, but it was a nice picture to start with. my phone lets you see what you are doing with self portraits, but it is a second camera which is much lower res, and leaves your face looking a tad more lumpy than it needs. my new experiment is with thinking nice thoughts while i have my photo taken.
in passing, i was watching a tv programme on british film recently and bob hoskins put a new twist, for me, on the idea that the camera never lies. he had to have a silent scene where he figures out in his mind all his options and eventually realises he has hasn't got any. he said that the camera can 'read your mind' so my new policy is not to feel uncomfortable in front of a lens, since it would seem that is what comes across and is why there have been so very many crap photos of me. mona lisa here i come.
