I woke up to find Caroline browsing the Staples website, and a store plan of the Chesterton Road (Mitchams Corner) branch in Cambridge. When we were there before, she was considering a new filing cabinet, and a printer table/stand. After a quick ring to ensure that they were open today, we had breakfast and had a drive in the Landcruiser. We went out via the A10, M11 and Madingley Road, and arrived before lunchtime. A few gadgets (including two attractively priced usb hard drives) were added to the basket, but the required cabinet was out of stock. So, we tried the other branch at the retail park, and yes, they had one. Got it out the warehouse, and put it on a pump truck so we could take it out ot the Landcruiser. Even got offered help with it… (presumably the guy thought we wouldn’t manage it, or didn’t want to get our hands dirty, but he was nice about it!) We managed it by rolling it on the side, into the back. The printer stand had to be ordered, and we were quoted 5-10 working days for delivery…

…So, anyway, another McLunch (we now have four glasses in the collection – 2 green ones added today, to yesterdays blue ones!), and we then returned to central Cambridge via Mill Road. We stopped at Richer Sounds, as Caroline wanted a new cable for her headphones. She was most made up when the store person got the gender right in the queue… “this lady is next…”! Quite right too, but I did point out she was wearing a rather skimpy top…

… We then drove back more or less via the A10, before we managed to get the cabinet upstairs in less time than I imagined! After a nap for us both (longer for me than her), she managed to assemble most of it, and I helped finish off a few of the drawers. Who said women can’t manage DIY?

Caroline was sunburnt by the end of it – yes, the weather has improved! We both had similar tops on, but she was sat on the other side of the car…
