Good morning! I came around in the recovery room around 1900, and Caroline
(mathieson) was here until 2220ish. Since I have been a sleep and awake.
Substantial pain initally, but it has really abated. I have had a dry
mouth, but they changed my oxygen to a nose tube. They have emptied the
cath bag once at least. I tried a post earlier on the phone but failed.
Will post more later.

Welcome back! The pain abates quite quickly. The worst for me was having to sleep on my back (I always sleep on my side normally) but appart from that just a feeling akin to sunburn on my clitoris, which at the time my brain told me as 'tip of penis is sunburnt' which led me to deduce exactly which part of the donor material became my clitoris :)

Glad you're ok, appreciated the text!

I still wince at the memory of having my catheter taken out in January/ August...

Yay!

I remember the O2 mask. Can't remember how long I was on it, I wasn't really with it for the first 12-24 hours.

Thanks Jenny... I am still getting used to all the feelings, but I think I've felt where the tip used to be. I've also felt the new hole when coughing...

*hugs*

That is ok!

The cath has a similar feeling to before, but they are a lot shorter now... I am sure you can think why!

I had it changed for a nose mask, and that was removed the next day. Not sure if that was because of my asthma, or because everyone needs one.

I think everyone needs one. I certainly had one and apparently [livejournal.com profile] auntysarah was put on one for the night after we'd all left.

How are you feeling?

Hi Zoe - thanks for clearing that up.

I am fine - very calm - except for a bit of pain yesterday, I have been ok. No major issues...

... Looking forward to seeing you again later, all going well!
