Saturday evening
Oct. 20th, 2007 11:58 pmAfter my lunch (potato wedges, pasta and ice cream),
cmmathieson arrived shortly before 1430. It was good to see her after so long, and she is content that I have my ‘old touch’ back again, and that I do have the post-op glow… maybe that is what is sticking my hair together LOL
We did have a very welcome guest in Mel J, who brought flowers, chocs and the customary “Baby Girl” card – thanks! More discussion and reminiscing about her time in here a few years ago now. Dinner was Cumberland sauages and mash – this appears to be a semi-official post-op tradition? – and they were very nice!
She left around 2030, and shortly after, I’d to call for a bedpan for the second time (no side effects from the tramadol for me then). The thing is, there was a fair bit of blood from the front in the process. (Blood coming out the back has happened to me before, but never from there – until now) Having the first nurse tell me this was fine, the second seemed a bit more concerned. Of course it is inevitable, but I was also getting some stabbing pains later in the evening. For night-time, they stuck a large sanitary towel into a rather large absorbent inco pad, which took me back to previous hospital visits! Did get to sleep after a bit though, especially after the tramadol kicked in.
The pack of gauze currently sitting in my new vagina is sticking out quite a bit, and it appears most of the blood is coming from this – so, presumably it has absorbed all that it can, but don’t worry too much as it will be gone forever in the morning!
(retro-blogged, as the Mac decided it was overworked as it shut down just after
cmmathieson left, and stayed like this till Sunday morning).
