Last night Caroline picked me up straight after my middle B-D-D of the day, and we headed to take the car back to Cambridge Toyota, and get the resident Landcruiser back. The Yaris looked nice from the outside, and the smell and sight of almost new upholstery initially took me back. The drivers console was in a deeply recessed position, which Caroline was having difficulty with (it looked similar to [personal profile] auntysarah 's hybrid Toyota, which I presumed had the big dashboard to cover the batteries - but not). Caroline was having some issues with the self-changing gearbox, and there was (what looked like) a manual mode, if you wanted clutch action!

As we were on the outer ring road, caught up in traffic and only five minutes away from the garage, they called C to advise her that the car needed more work (it was in for exhaust work and MOT prep & test), and it would now be tomorrow morning. So, we carried on to the retail park, which was our next planned stop. Caroline spoiled herself with some really attractive work clothes from Evans, and the cashier from the store recognised her from when she'd visited their other branch in The Grafton about 18 months ago. I must admit to being taken aback! We got a few other items from around the park, before we went to Jayne's for the evening. We left a little earlier than usual, as I started nodding off (twice)...

... We got back down the A10 in plenty of time before the overnight roadworks, and back to Royston.
