T-50… err… T-69 – Yes, I can count!

OK, so following the guy I was speaking to passing out in his seat (think he’d sneaked on something in that drinks can of his – slightly illegal but never mind), we got into London in plenty of time - largely because we went via the A40. Again, a road I’ve not done for some time, with some familiar sights. After a stop for breakfast, I had Burton’s Volvo YV 04 XFB up on National Express service 010 to Cambridge, at 0830. I had an appointment with the JCP this morning at 1140, which is why I had to do the miles – to get from one end of the country to the other within 24 hours. My sister called me on my mobile as I was in the loos at Drummer Street, but as they are individually locked cubicles (with doors to the street), it didn’t seem to matter too much! On route to the centre, the battery on my phone decided it had enough for one day, and started going low, so I turned it off. I then got to Chesterton Road with plenty of time to spare. Checked the clock on my phone – had to switch it on – and there was a voicemail… from Liz Hills, with a date for me… deja-vu was really starting to kick in, so I clambered into the phone box (after waiting for a kid to stop mucking around with it!) and got the date – now Tuesday 16th October. I said I’d confirm it with Caroline and let her know by the end of the day.
After my visit to said offices (and being wished well for tomorrow), I proceeded back into Cambridge, and went to meet
auntysarah. Following recent discussions, we’d agreed that I’d pop in, if I had the chance in passing. She answered the door in admiration, and said “The estradiol really suits you dear”…
…After Sarah got over my previous prescription (“…I can’t believe they were prescribing you dried horse p**s…”), and I explained what had happened, we got onto discussing finer details of surgery. She then showed me a couple of videos that she’d purchased via iTunes - Weird Al Yankovic - Like a surgeon (a Madonna paradoy, which makes me almost scared to go under the knife! lol) and You’re Pitiful, also from Al. This was a very funny James Blunt parody!
After we walked into town, she got a few items from the market and Sainsbury’s before going back to hers, and then dropping me off in Royston by car. The hybrid was able to run really quietly and make little noise, and still get a very good speed up, especially when given the chance on the A10 and A505 by-pass section. As we pulled into the street, I heard a noise from her phone – it was Caroline wondering if I’d got hold of her yet, because my phone was off… just as I was arriving back at hers! (Almost like a telepathic way of thinking!)
So, I had a brief sort-through of the paperwork and post from this side, started to get unpacked, and waited for Caroline to come home. We then drove back to Cambridge in the evening for an evening at Jayne’s, and discussion of the trip followed!
We left late… but got back to Royston, and slept quick enough! Friday is looking good for a rest!
