I’ve been a little quiet of late, but not too bad. Weight is averaging around 97 kilos, around the same (or a little less) than when I was in hospital. Pills – well I’ve dropped those back down to two pills a day of Estradiol, for now – as I’ve been a bit tearful of late, unusually when everything is going so well otherwise. I don’t want to tempt fate, but we shall see how this goes over the next fortnight.

Tuesday I was at work. Nabbed a few test pictures with the new camera in central Cambridge (as the light and weather weren’t that bad), and you can see them here. This also includes pictures of former Fife express Volvo/Plaxton coach 543, which I spotted at the bus stop I alight at for work (Milton, Cambridge Road) – it, along with some others, are now training buses for Stagecoach Cambridgeshire. I like the way that the pictures look, even with the digital zoom mode on, it doesn’t look too bad. You can zoom in a bit, and try to make sure no cyclists get in the way! Having said that, the flash is turned on every time you turn the camera on, so this will get a little annoying during the winter months, as I’ll forget! You know what I’m like…

Wednesday, we had an afternoon/evening in London, as C had another appointment in the city.  As we got into Kings Cross, notices around talked of problems further up north with weather etc. (you know things are bad on the East Coast Main Line when ticket restrictions are dropped before lunchtime!), but there were no issues on the way out or in for us (Royston trains join the same series tracks south of Hitchin). We had a browse around a few stores, and then we ended up in Starbucks in Charing Cross Road. In the evening, trains were late on the way in and out of Kings Cross, because of power problems on the overhead section of line between KX and Finsbury Park, so the 2052 left very late. After leaving Baldock 29 minutes and 53 seconds late (according to the station clock), we stopped at Ashwell & Morden, then Royston. This one was due in at 2140, and pulled into Royston at 2210 (and was then missing out all intermediate points to Cambridge, in an attempt to get back on time). I double-checked the time with Caroline as we arrived, and she said ‘is this the time from which we can claim a refund?’… (giggles!) yes, you can see I’ve been training her well!

Toys
… now, perhaps an oversight on my part, as although I had a stuffed heffalump, it's not quite a teddy bear, per se. Until Christmas Day, when I got one (and a few other things) from my family. Not quite sure if they realize the significance, but I wouldn't think so. Anyway, on Tuesday, Caroline had stopped at the chemist to get her meds, and mine, and she got me this cute little teddy, with a striped pastel scarf. The tag said Sherbet Bear, and that's the name that has sort of stuck.

So, yesterday, we were both out in London, and we'd stopped briefly for coffee, as you would, and I saw these rather cute Bearista Bears. Yes, it's a coffee-making (barista) teddy bear. So, I had to get C one of those...

... So, here's the two new ones..

... and now, the whole of Juanitta's new brood... the big pink teddy at the back is Juanitta, who belongs to C, and is therefore a bit of a mother figure in her own right (to the other toys!) From the left, a dark grey cat that came with a mug from Boots (again, no name yet... dearie me!), Heffalump, 'Sherbet', 'Bearista' (so new still tags), and sat on the case, Bruno the Blacksmith (gift from my family).

Now we are starting to build a collection of toys (soft and battery-powered!), but we don't plan to make a habit of buying one each per day!
