Day continues...

suzyscottdotcom... and it's the turn of the Post Office. After picking up the packets of leaflets that I missed last week, we drove into central Royston, as C wanted to get my passport app submitted. (Thanks to Jayne A for your help with the submission prepartion the day before!)
I followed all the rules on the leaflet, as instructed. Had the pics done yesterday, all the supporting docs. Even brought a GRC, just in case.
First woman took one look at the GRC, and passed it onto her colleague. OK, so that might be expected.
Second woman read through the form with a colleague, and decided that the Shetland Isles (place of fathers birth) were not part of the UK...
... that, and two issues of presentation (OK, so I did initally get my dad's DOB wrong, but I rewrote it)... to no avail.
No apology at the end for their previous confusion (and they had to read the notes, unaware of a procedure they are supposed to excel in), and quite happy to change the subject to try and win us over.
If they try to upsell us if/when we go back...
... of course I could have taken it to Peterborough and handed it over (with no arguments) for a fiver on my own, but never mind.
I'm hoping some coffee and painkillers will help, as my head is now thumping... once again. Outside, the rain is just about to start pouring down.
