A few more pics from Jean & Jim Gardner, thanks once again, to illustrate the 'most well-known cat in Forfar' (see my previous posts here and here).
Firstly, Popeye loved to be fed titbits from passing customers... here he is, munching on some ham...

... or cat-napping around the store, most often in the magazine boxes near the front of the store...

... sometimes wide-awake in the boxes, seeing who was passing by...

... failing that, hiding away on a trolley was always good fun.

RIP Popeye, the Tesco Forfar Cat. I'd heard that the store found the cat when he'd originally ran away (his original owners having had a new kitten), I think there may well be some truth in this. A very fondly remembered animal, who will be missed.
