My Thursday - Straddling The Nene Valley

On Thursday, I did a trip around a few new areas of route for me;
Lift from C to Melbourn Village opp Car Park (we were running a few minutes late, so used this to short-cut the 26. C works not too far away...)
16020 26 Melbourn opp Car Park - Cambridge Drummer Street
then
20854 9 Cambridge Drummer Street - Ely Market Street

20850 X9 Ely Market Street - Chatteris opposite Police Station

AE 07 DZB 337 Chatteris opposite Police Station - Peterborough Bus Station

18102 X4 Peterborough Bus Station - Kettering Town Centre

16222 Mercury M50 Kettering Town Centre - Bedford Bus Station

16209 was ran onto the X5 to replace a Volvo, so...
16209 X5 Bedford Bus Station - Cambridge, Madingley Road Park & Ride (and was then picked up from there).

The title name comes from the fact that the 337 was largley south of the river, as was the X4. Kettering was a first shot, and good for shops, need to return one day. Loved the windy roads through Oundle towards Corby. Oh, and Chatteris... well, mentioned it so many times, but loved the name of the hair salon... 'Curl Up And Dye'... ;D
You can see the rest of the pictures here.
p.s. Oh yes, and at Peterborough, caught up with these two! This version is a little different from the one in Cambridge...

Date: 2008-05-24 07:53 pm (UTC)I've only ever passed through on the train - at Ely, buses split and go towards Littleport (used to continue to Kings Lynn) or Chatteris/March and beyond.

Date: 2008-05-25 12:41 pm (UTC)Now considering options for Tuesday, as I've got an interview at the Passport Office in Peterborough... don't think I will get out that far, but back via March is an option. Would like to try something else... might just have the time to come back via Kings Lynn, but we will see.
