Service Changes - w/c Monday 18 August 2008

Services 6/6A (Leven – Kirkcaldy – Burntisland)These services will be extended from Leven to Mountfleurie via Montrave. The route of service 6A will also be altered between Leven bus station and Muiredge to follow the current route of service 8 via Aberhill/Methil Brae and within Kirkcaldy will operate via Dysart and Loughborough Road and no longer serve Milton Rd/Ramsay Rd. The route of service 6 will be revised in the Buckhaven/Muiredge area. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. 

Service 7 (Leven – Kirkcaldy - Dunfermline)A number of minor route alterations will be made to help improve reliability. Buses will no longer serve the turning circle at Inverkeithing rail station, and during Monday to Saturday daytime buses will operate via Kirkcaldy Esplanade instead of Links Street and omit St.David’s Harbour in Dalgety Bay. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. 

Service 8 (Mountfleurie - Leven – Kirkcaldy)This service will be withdrawn and replaced by revised services 6/6A and 13 which will provide direct links to Victoria Hospital. 

Service 13 (Leven – Kirkcaldy)The service will be extended to Mountfleurie via Montrave during the evenings and all day on Sundays and will offer an improved service every 30 minutes between Leven and Mountfleurie at these times, with hourly links through to Kirkcaldy and Victoria Hospital. 

Service 16 (Cowdenbeath – Kirkcaldy)The lunchtime journeys on this service will be withdrawn, and the morning and afternoon journeys will be revised to operate to/from Cowdenbeath bus depot. 

Service 17/17A/17B (Cowdenbeath – Kelty)Minor timetable alterations, largely affecting early morning and late evening buses. 

Service 18 (Kelty – Kirkcaldy)The section of route beyond Ravenscraig flats to/from Dysart will be withdrawn and replaced by revised service 6A which will offer an improved service for Loughborough Road. The route will also be amended within the Raith estate and will additionally serve Nicol Street and the High Street as a result of customer feedback. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. 

Service 19 (Ballingry – Dunfermline – Rosyth)This service will be revised to operate via Dunfermline bus station to improve connections with other services. In order to accommodate the extra time required for this change, a one way loop will be introduced within Ballingry with buses operating clockwise via Ballingry Road, Kirkland Gardens, Hill Road and Lochleven Road. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the 10 minute daytime frequency. Journeys operating via Fife Leisure Park will display service 19A. 

Service 23 (St.Andrews – Kinross – Stirling)Some minor timetable alterations introduced with buses no longer diverting into the Park & Ride site at Kinross. The 1935 journey from Stirling will be extended to run through to St.Andrews providing a later return journey along the whole route. 

Service 26 (Kirkcaldy – Boreland)This Sunday only service will be withdrawn due to poor passenger loadings. 

Service 30 (Dunfermline – Ballingry – Glenrothes)The 0701 and 0721 departures from Cowdenbeath to Glenrothes on a Saturday morning will be combined into one journey departing at 0711. 

Service 32 (Glenrothes – Cardenden – Kirkcaldy)The route will be revised within Kirkcaldy to operate from Chapel Village via Longbraes and Sauchenbush to the bus station. Monday to Saturday evening journeys will also extend to Victoria Hospital. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. 

Service 33 (Dunfermline – Cardenden – Kirkcaldy)The 1700 journey from Kirkcaldy on a Saturday will be extended to Dunfermline bus station. 

Service 34 (Ballingry – Cardenden – Kirkcaldy)During school holidays an extra journey will be added at 1545 from Kirkcaldy to Lochgelly, and on a Saturday evening an extra journey will run at 2206 from Ballingry to Kirkcaldy. On Sundays a revised hourly timetable will be introduced incorporating a minor route alteration to serve Broom Road, Glamis Road turning circle and Blairmore Road in Kirkcaldy with such journeys being numbered 34A. 

Service 35 (Cupar – Newburgh – Perth)The additional journeys introduced last year between Newburgh and Perth will be withdrawn along with the lunchtime journeys to/from Cupar. However a peak time return journey from Perth to Cupar will be introduced improving commuting opportunities. Lindores will also be served by revised services F1/F2 providing a more regular service to/from Cupar and Newburgh. 

Service 36 (Glenrothes – Newburgh – Perth)A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. The evening and Sunday diversion via Strathmiglo will be discontinued with alternative facilities being provided by the improved service 66. 

Service 36B (Glenrothes – Strathmiglo – Kinross)This service will be withdrawn and replaced by improved service 66 between Glenrothes and Burnside. 

Services 39,39A (Newcastle – Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy)The route between Victoria Hospital and Kirkcaldy rail station will be revised to operate via Dunnikier Road, Wilson Ave/Adamson Ave, Hendry Road and Bennochy Road. There will be no change to the timetable. 

Service 40 (Cadham/Collydean – Glenrothes – Kirkcaldy)The section of route between Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes bus stations will be withdrawn, with a revised timetable introduced on the Glenrothes – Collydean/Cadham section. 

Service 40A (Woodside – Glenrothes – Collydean/Cadham)Minor timetable alterations introduced. 

Services 41,41A (Kirkcaldy/Leven – Kennoway – Cupar)Minor timetable alterations introduced incorporating a revised route within Kirkcaldy with all journeys now operating via Victoria Hospital. The early morning 41B works journey will be renumbered service 141. 

Service 42 (Cupar – Tayport – Dundee – Ninewells Hospital)As a result of customer requests for a quicker journey between Cupar and Dundee, for much of the day a revised route will be introduced within Tayport with buses omitting the Nelson Street/Shanwell Road/Elizabeth Street loop. However improvements to service 96 will maintain a regular service in this area of Tayport. 

Service 45 (Glenrothes - Markinch)New hourly service operating during the evenings and Sundays, on behalf of Fife Council, between Glenrothes and Markinch via Woodside and Coaltown of Balgonie. 

Services 48,49 (Leven – Kennoway – Denhead/Bonnybank - Buckhaven – Leven Circulars)Minor timetable alterations, including earlier journeys on Sunday mornings. 

Service 53 (Dalgety Bay – Edinburgh)Monday to Friday peak journeys will become limited stop within Edinburgh and be numbered X53. In addition within Dalgety Bay all journeys will be rerouted to serve St.David’s Harbour and extended to terminate at Moray Way South. A slightly revised timetable will be introduced to improve reliability. 

Service 55 (Dunfermline – Edinburgh)Minor alterations will be made to the timetable to improve reliability. 

Service 56 (Kelty – Kinross – Perth)The 1602 Mon to Sat journey from Kelty to Perth will operate 5 minutes later. 

Services 64,64A (St.Andrews – Cupar – Auchtermuchty)These services will be revised to operate from St.Andrews via Strathkinness, Pitscottie, Ceres, Craigrothie, Cupar, Springfield, and Letham to Ladybank. From there service 64 journeys will continue in a clockwise loop via Freuchie, Falkland, Dunshalt, Auchtermuchty, Trafalgar, and Giffordtown back to Ladybank and onward to St.Andrews via the reverse of the outward route. Service 64A journeys will operate from Ladybank around the loop in the opposite direction to the 64. An improved timetable will be introduced incorporating an hourly frequency for much of the day and evening on Mondays to Saturdays. For alternative facilities between Bogward and St.Andrews see new service 93 and existing services 99/99A. 

Services 66,66A,66B (Glenrothes – Strathmiglo – Burnside/Auchtermuchty)These services will be revised to operate from Glenrothes to Strathmiglo direct via Falkland, with service 66 continuing to Burnside via Gateside and service 66A continuing to Auchtermuchty. During the daytime on Monday to Saturday both these services will operate every 2 hours providing an improved combined hourly service between Glenrothes and Strathmiglo. In the evenings service 66B will generally operate every 2 hours from Glenrothes via Freuchie, Falkland, Strathmiglo, Gateside/Burnside, Strathmiglo, Auchtermuchty, Dunshalt, Falkland, Freuchie back to Glenrothes. On Sundays a similar route will be followed, but omitting Gateside/Burnside. 

Service 67 (Glenrothes – Ladybank – Cupar)A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the same basic frequency. 

Service 72 (Tayport – Dundee – Ninewells Hospital)This service will be revised to operate between Dundee bus station and Windsor Street only, with 4 journeys per day Monday to Friday. Improved services 42/96 will provide alternative facilities between Tayport and Ninewells Hospital. 

Service 78 (Dunfermline – High Valleyfield – Falkirk)The journeys currently operating via the Kincardine bypass will be diverted to serve Westfield road end, Toll Road, and North Approach Road. There will be no change to the timetable. 

Service 80,80A,80B (Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Dalgety Bay)Minor timetable amendments introduced incorporating one early morning journey on Mondays to Saturdays routed via Abbeyview which will display service 80B. 

Service 91 (St.Andrews – Scooniehill circular)Service withdrawn, with alternative facilities provided by services 99,99A,99B,99C and Moffat & Williamson service 9B which are all operated with low-floor, easy-access buses. 

Service 93 (St.Andrews - Bogward)New Monday to Saturday service introduced operating hourly, on behalf of Fife Council, between St.Andrews bus station and Younger Gardens via Langlands Road and Morrison’s. 

Service 96 (St.Andrews – Tayport – Dundee – Ninewells Hospital)This service is rerouted within Tayport to serve the Shanwell Road South turning circle at all times. Additional journeys will generally operate hourly between Tayport (Shanwell Road South) and Ninewells only, to augment the hourly through journeys from St.Andrews, which when combined with revised service 42 will provide a 20 minute frequency between Tayport and Ninewells for much of the day. 

99,99A,99B,99C (St.Andrews – Dundee)As a result of customer requests one 99B journey per hour will be diverted via The Canongate instead of Broomfaulds Avenue and be numbered 99C. In addition the last departure to and from Dundee will now be 30 minutes later on Monday to Saturday evenings. 

Services D3,D4 (Dunfermline – Pitcorthie/Duloch Park)Evening and Sunday journeys will now operate to/from Dunfermline bus station, with James Street and New Row continuing to be served on outward journeys. 

Services D5,D6 (Dunfermline – Abbeyview/Garvock Bank)Services revised to operate to/from Dunfermline bus station. James Street and New Row will continue to be served on outward journeys during the daytime. 

Service D7 (Townhill – Dunfermline – Duloch Park – North Queensferry)All journeys will now serve Dunfermline bus station, with James Street and New Row still served on southbound journeys during the day on Monday to Saturday. Also during the day buses will no longer serve Middlebank Street in Rosyth, but instead operate via the crossroads. A revised timetable will be introduced although the basic frequency will be maintained. Go-Flexi

Services F1,F2 (St.Andrews – Cupar – Newburgh)Most journeys will now serve Grange of Lindores as part of the fixed route. Alternate journeys will also be diverted to operate between Trafalgar and Den of Lindores via the B937 and Lindores instead of via Auchtermuchty. A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency.   

Service K1 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Chapel Level)This new service will operate every 30 minutes between the bus station and Chapel Level via Hendry Road, Templehall and Robert Adam Drive providing an improved service for the new housing area north of Chapel Level. Low-floor, easy-access buses will also be introduced. 

Services K2,K3 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Glen Bruar Place)A revised timetable will be introduced with all journeys operating as service K3 via Chapel Level. Chapel Road/Broom Road will be served by revised service K5. 

Service K4 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Dunnikier estate)A revised timetable will be introduced maintaining the current frequency. 

Service K5 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Chapel Level)This service will be revised to operate every 30 minutes between the bus station and Chapel Level via Hendry Road, Templehall and Chapel Road. Low-floor, easy-access buses will also be introduced. 

Service K6 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Redcraigs)This service will be revised to provide an improved direct service every 15 minutes between the bus station and Redcraigs via Valley Gardens. Low-floor, easy-access buses will also be introduced. 

Service K7 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Asda)Due to low passenger numbers this service will be withdrawn. However revised service 32 will maintain the hourly service between the bus station and Broom Road via Sauchenbush and Longbraes. 

Service K8 (Linktown – bus station – Asda – Dysart/Boreland)This new service will operate hourly during the day on Mondays to Saturdays serving Milton Road, Ramsay Road, Kirkcaldy bus and rail stations, Meldrum Road, Victoria Hospital, Asda, Overton Mains, The Fairway, Dysart, Boreland and Gallatown. A number of journeys will also be operated by low-floor, easy-access buses. 

Service K9 (Redcraigs – Asda – Dysart)Due to low passenger numbers this service will be withdrawn. However new service K8 will maintain the hourly service between Victoria Hospital, Asda and Dysart. 

Service K13 (Kirkcaldy bus station – Longbraes)The evening journeys will be withdrawn on Monday to Saturdays with alternative facilities provided by existing/revised services 18 and 32. On Sundays the hourly service will be maintained and will additionally serve the High Street and Nicol Street. 

Services X24,X26,X27 (Fife – Glasgow express services)In order to improve reliability many journeys will be revised to operate up to 5 minutes earlier, with more time allowed at key bus stations on route. 

Service X54 (Dundee – Glenrothes – Dunfermline – Edinburgh)This service will be rerouted to serve Cowdenbeath (Fountain and bus depot) and Crossgates at all times. The peak time journeys on service X57 will also be incorporated into a revised timetable maintaining the current frequency. 

Service X57 (Ballingry/Lochgelly – Edinburgh)This peak time service will be incorporated into the revised service X54 timetable. 

Services X58,X59,X60 (Fife – Edinburgh express services)In order to improve reliability many journeys will be revised to operate up to 5 minutes earlier, with more time allowed at key bus stations on route.
