Seeing as we are all probably hungry by this point of the day...!

Last Friday, I stopped at a Greggs bakers store in Hertford, and got a few bits to munch on the GreenLine (see previous posts about last weekend). As I'd had the Apple Danish before, I tried another of their unusual regional variations - a London Cheesecake.

It's not got cheese on (or in it), but it's a pastry square with some jam inside, and icing with coconut.

Upon discussing with [profile] thebustocrookes who had never heard of it either (and thought it was some kind  of innuendo! Would I? Hmm... anyway...), some later googling reveals a pic and an explanation, on this page.

Next, what is a Tottenham Cake, and why are they pink?

Yes... and it's going to be a while at least till I'm out that way again!

Do you think Greggs should do a UK-wide "regional" range? Maybe like the Apple Danish and London Cheesecake's from South East, Scottish things like Macaroni Pies etc. for the rest of us - but around the whole UK ?

Suspect several of us would be even heavier if that were the case, you know!

Kind regards,
Suzy
