suzyscottdotcomWith a high of 26 degrees forecast for Cambridge, it seemed like ideal festival weather – despite the grey start.
We went out shopping to begin with. After driving into Cambridge, we stopped at another Galloway & Porter booksale, at their Cherry Hinton Road warehouse. I bought some more of those Philips Street Atlases to add a few more to the collection – and at £1.00 or £2.95 each, it was a fair saving on full price – quite a few were 2007/8 editions too, nothing really old, and defiantly none of the old black/white ones! I bought 22 of them, and for some reason they were all charged at £1.00 each! So, I paid £22 for the lot, making a saving of £86.33 on the full cover price of the lot!
One other purchase there was a copy of New York City For Dummies (2007 edition - full price £11.99 - sold for £1.00!) - and C bought four books as well, for £1.00 each. Again, huge savings to be made!
After stopping at McD and the retail park (PC World/Boots/Starbucks – just for the new mug!) and then across to Staples, we returned south to Cherry Hinton Hall, for Pink Festival 2008. It’s a free entry festival for all – not just LGBT people, as the program says. The event was going on with live music, acts, tents, stalls, food & drink, and demonstrations well into the evening, although we stayed for a bit, it was very warm - temperature, and the welcome!
So, here’s a few of what we saw…
Main stage… just an hour later it was twice as busy!
Lots of pink items for sale, amongst the rest!

A while after this, we decided to make our way home, having had a very good day out, collected a heap of merchandise and flyers, and the rest of the shopping too!
