Role reversals in love
Jun. 19th, 2007 03:03 pmToday was a little different – Caroline was traveling, and I was in town! Caroline had to travel into London for a medical consultation, and to celebrate it all going well (as well as it being a really warm day here in Royston), I decided to spoil her a bit! I don’t really need an excuse to spoil my girlfriend… but it was just an extra excuse to add to a good day! I prepared my mind and ideas at home, before popping out to the nearby Tesco Extra superstore. As I arrived in the car park, I got a text from Caroline to tell me she was on the train home! So, quick “trolley dash” around the store. Got home (after going initially down the wrong one of two parallel roads), and put the fresh and frozen stuff in the correct storage. I then got around to Royston station with about five minutes to go (in the end, the train was a few minutes down). The revenue protection staff at Platform 2’s car park exit saw me waiting, and offered me to wait on the platform instead. The two of them were discussing a number of recent incidents (since barriers got put in at Royston station), including one where a member of the public handed over a child rate ticket… in his wallet, just ahead of his driving license…
… anyway, so she arrived, and Caroline took a nap before I prepared the meal. I had purchased as much “low fat” type food as I could (where possible), and prepared three-colour pasta with a tomato based sauce, with stir-fried chicken bits, and topped off with half-fat cheddar. (Simple perhaps, but a full big bowl was well under 500 calories)! Afterwards, we finished this with a very low fat frozen yoghurt type stuff (half the fat of the comparable ice cream!), and then we spent some time on the sofa.
