Waltham Cross & beyond
Jun. 30th, 2007 11:47 pmThe Silver Choice coach continued down the motorways. It was tastefully decorated inside with dark shades of black and silver, which helped you calm and sleep (especially good since I appear to had forgotten my eyeshade – essential for overnight trips!) We took a 45 minute break at Charnock Richard Services at 0245, where I stayed asleep. I woke a little later than usual, after stirring around the top of Temple Fortune/Childs Hill, I then woke up as we were on the Finchley Road. We got into London shortly after 0600, and I was very impressed with the quality of service that I had.
After McBreakfast, I proceeded to Victoria for Service 73 to Seven Sisters. This was ran by Arriva Edmonton’s Mercedes bendibus MA3, after a gap in service saw two arrive together, and the one in the front was very full! We powered through the streets of Islington and Tottenham before ending the journey, and I continued further north on Service 279 to Waltham Cross. This was also operated by Arriva London North (Enfield garage), DLA201 this time. Waltham Cross bus station is owned by TfL, despite being in Hertfordshire. Caroline had agreed to pick me up here, and she drove me back to Royston.
Two red Saver tickets down, eleven left after the expiry date! It was too wet to do anything else today!
