After the Saturday morning, we went out shopping to Somerfield. I also got directions to a take-away style bakery called Days Of Ashwell Ltd. although they have stores around the area. Kneesworth Street in Royston is to be closed from 30th July for four weeks - this will affect almost every bus in town, but I will post more when I know.

Once we got home,  Caroline went for a bath, and I went through to the study. I fell asleep on the "guest bed" (translation: used by me for working out travel plans and job apps and map reading!) for almost an hour until 1730 - even though I said I'd be through to tell her when it was 1700... so naturally I felt a bit guilty about this, as well as a little bit tired.

As we were driving up the A10 to Cambridge in the evening, I started apologising for whatever, and the rest of my life... as the rain lashed down on the sides of the Landcruiser. We were approaching Foxton level crossing, and Caroline said to me something along the lines of "I think you look cute... and you can write that in your journal, too..." As you know, I like a challenge, but mine was to stay awake for the evening!

The skies were somewhat grey, with claps of thunder, but we made it to visit Jayne in the north of the city, and back again. As we headed back around Junction 11 of the M11 at Trumpington (onto the A10), we saw fireworks, coming from the Imperial War Museum at Duxford's Flying Proms night. We pulled into a lay-by for a few moments, before heading home. I slept very well last night!

Sunday has been quieter by comparison - and I think I may have finally found a reduced calorie sweetner that doesn't want to kill me from the inside out! I will wait and see before deciding, but results so far are promising...
