... well, everyone else counts theirs down, so I will be too!

Tomorrow I am travelling to Brighton with Caroline for her inital consultation - yes, deja vu to 31st March... from there, I will be travelling back to Dundee Sat night into Sunday morning, then staying in Dundee on Sunday daytime, Sunday night, Monday daytime, Monday night, then on Tuesday morning medical appointment in Glasgow, travelling south that evening, and then into Cambridge on Wednesday morning.

Well, they do say no rest for the wicked!

Look out for a "state of the Suzy" some time soon!

kind regards,
Suzy xxx

That's right - I wait ages for one, and then...

... never mind ...

Since my own news, I've heard that a good friend from the states (Jenni A.) is going for her surgery later this month - Monday 20th August, over in the states.

On Friday 24th August, back in little old England, [profile] thebustocrookes will have a slightly different kind of surgery, to reverse what had to be put in place at short notice over the New Year holidays. Let Dougie explain it all to you here.

Good luck and best wishes to the both of you :)

Sent to the operators and DCC earlier in the day.

OMG - is it THAT time of the year already?

As you will all no doubt recall, I've compiled a guide to festive period buses around Dundee City for the last three seasons - 2004/5, 2005/6, and 2006/7.

As I am no longer working in Dundee, and I am also spending a lot of time down south with [profile] cmmathieson - and yesterday, I had a phone call re pending surgery, which will keep me "off the game" so to speak, for the last three months of this year.

As a result, I will not be able to assist with this publication this year. I will supply all the files to Dundee City Council to allow them to compile one of their own, or something similar should they wish.

I would like to thank you all for your assistance with these publications over the years. Simple, but effective.

Kind regards,
Suzy

To the Scottish-based transpeople reading this - if you've not already had one of the forms, you can fill this in online.

This survey has been created by the Scottish Transgender Alliance's Development Worker based within the Equality Network. The Scottish Transgender Alliance is a strategic steering group formed by representatives of Scottish transgender community groups and LGBT organisations. The funding has been provided by the Scottish Executive Equality Unit.

There is currently a serious lack of information about the experiences of trans and intersex people living in Scotland. Therefore, this survey aims to establish the service provision experiences of people in Scotland who have a trans or intersex background or identity. The results of this survey will be used by the Scottish Transgender Alliance to develop good practice guidance for Scottish public services.

This survey is ONLY for people who currently live in Scotland.

This survey is for ALL types of self-identifying trans or intersex people and ALSO for ALL men and women with trans or intersex backgrounds or medical histories.

Please base your answers only on your experiences while living in Scotland.

Please complete and return this survey ONCE ONLY.

This is an anonymous survey. Please DO NOT put your name anywhere in it.

was tipped off about this some time ago,  but now it's worth a mention in its own right, for reasons that will become obvious.

The Festival of Extreme Building is in central Birmingham until the end of September.

"From their home base sited close to the 900 bus stop on Moor Street Queensway in Birmingham City Centre the Festival of Xtreme Building will bring a variety of interesting experimental structures to the city of Birmingham.

The exhibition, an exploration of creative construction, will see events taking place around the city however the main focus of the festival will take place around in the area between Matthew Boulton College and Moor Street Station (and the 900 bus stop) and the Eastside development.

The official program starts from June 9th with the ‘Micro-Compact Home’ (measuring just 2.6m square and complete with double-bed, kitchen area, flat screen TV and even a shower) and continues until September with a variety of constructions created by various artists, architects and the people of Birmingham."

Travel West Midlands are currently running an exclusive competition on their website (which is open to all, if you feel like it...)

"Travel West Midlands have teamed up with the Festival of Xtreme Building to offer one lucky winner the chance to win a night for 2 in the Micro Compact Home including a mouthwatering meal cooked by your own personal chef!

This "money-can't-buy" prize includes a meal cooked by a personal chef and served to you in the Micro Compact Home. Afterwards you can relax and perhaps watch some TV before turning in for the night, safe in the knowledge that whilst you are sleeping in the Micro Compact Home is being protected by Security Guards..."

...  to the person who just sent me a text asking if that picture in my last post (Festival of Xtreme Building) was genuine - yes, it was!

PMSL - do you think I'd make something like that up...?

(hmm.... lol)

That gave me an idea... I wonder what the rejected designs look like?

After a chance find of her bebo page, I spoke to my sister earlier on in the evening. It's the first contact from any of my family since last November. My mother is apparently getting worse (health) but still surviving - she apparently didn't know how to respond to the letters I'd sent her, or what to say.  Anyway, I may just make contact now, it seems a bit more positive.

That was a nice surprise - now, time for bed - we've got an early start in the morning (and I've got a late finish!)
