T-31 - Saturday shopping
Sep. 15th, 2007 10:52 pmCaroline drove us to Cambridge (driving via Foxton Village, hmm I wonder why!), and we went via Cherry Hinton Road, as there was another booksale at Galloway & Porter's book warehouse at The Paddocks. Caroline was impressed with some of the books on offer for £1 - but even more so with the technie stuff from £2 each. She points out, quite rightly, that some of these could cost £60-£70 each. We spent £19 the lot, and that was between us! Mine was two books on Excel and Dreamweaver (£2 each), a book on the history of Nortel Networks (hi Jay!) for the same price (I am sure he could write volume 2 on what has happened since the book was published!), as well as a book of postcards for £1, and the same amount went on a massage book which Caroline pointed me at...
... We then proceeded to the retail park, had a bite to eat, and then Caroline had a look around. I went into the citi via the citi3 bus (after the 10 driver decided not to bother stopping, and just made me look like a tw*tt...), and I went to the bank and the tea/coffee stall at Cambridge Market. Remember I mentioned the range of flavoured teas? Well, I just had to try Artic Fire, with a name like that... and the flavouring is added in Germany, which made it even more interesting!

Anyway, after returning to the retail park, more shops and then a few things from Sainsbury's, we returned to Royston. I offered to cook for Caroline tonight, so by request, she asked for the curry which I made her a few weeks ago, using a recipe passed down from
lips_of_tragedy! Slightly milder this time, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. It worked with her diet, as it was all made with veg. If she's happy, then I am delighted!
