End of the ghost bus – maybe

suzyscottdotcomDo you remember I mentioned, and sampled, the Tuesday-only Wandsworth Road – Kensington Olympia – Ealing Broadway "parliamentary" Rail Replacement “ghost bus” back in February?
With effect from the new timetable starting today, a new Monday to Friday train service will start, by Southern Railway. The train will come off a peak working of the London Victoria – London Bridge “South London Line” and will leave Olympia at 1012, arriving Wandsworth Road at 1029. There will aloso be a return working, from Wandsworth Road at 1635 to Olympia 1653, then forming an extra working from Olympia 1700 via West Brompton 1702 to Clapham Junction 1709. (It’s not in the new National Rail Timetable, but it on Page 29 of the supplement dated 12th May 2009).
So, that covers the bottom half, but what about the Olympia – Ealing Broadway section? This route is more difficult to serve, as the junction in question is not electrified. Currently no information as to what will happen for the summer (will the Ghost Bus continue?) but in the winter, it will be part of the South Central franchise.
