Slightly more concerning was word from Caroline that Morgan’s computer store in Tottenham Court Road/New Oxford Street has closed. It’s the one at the corner of Bloomsbury Street and New Oxford Street. My first digital camera was purchased there (and took my first digital pic of a DLA over the road on what was the 242 stand). I’d bought a fair bit there even recently, when they seemed to be lowering their marketing efforts etc, in fact I’d been there with C just a month or so back. I used to always stop by, even if not purchasing anything, just to see what was on offer, at New Oxford St (London). I am presuming the ones in Manchester and Brum have also had their day.

Morgan Computers - one of Britain's longest surviving independent retail PC dealers - has sold its online business to a Jersey-based businessman, but questions remain over its retail arm.
Morgan's owner Robert Nicklin was unwilling to comment to The Register on Friday, but the firm's flagship store on Oxford Street remained closed on Friday.
But the company's website, which disappeared on Tuesday, was back online by Friday lunchtime.
We spoke to the site's new owner Anthony Moxon, boss of IJT Direct Ltd which sells printer consumables and gadgets from Jersey.
Moxon said: "It's a lovely old established business with a large base of loyal customers. We will probably change as little as possible."
Moxon said he had been assured that there were no customers with outstanding orders. He declined to tell us how much he paid for the business. Moxon said he'd welcome interest from would-be customers, and from suppliers wanting to sell him kit.
Morgan's headquarters was on Oxford Street, London but it also had branches in Manchester and Birmingham and a warehouse in West London.
It started as a secondhand camera shop and started selling end-of-line and discounted computer kit in 1983. Morgan has run its online business since 1997 and also had an auction site, which is also currently unavailable. ®
