Following a trial with an artifical sweetener that we got from Somerfield on Saturday (it’s called Slimmer, in a grey/red dispenser – no website that I can find), I’ve now switched to it from sugar. It is made from lactose (milk sugar), acesulfame-K, aspartame, Cross Linked CMC, Leucine, and a Humectant (E341). Each tablet contains 0.16kcal – a huge reduction of about one-hundreth of the calories in granulated sugar.

I’ve used it for two days, and any reaction would have been seen by now.

This morning, Caroline commented positively on putting the sugar canister out of reach on the top of the food cupboard. I then demonstrated why – what I’d done yesterday – when I took the cup, put coffee in, put sweeteners in, then added sugar (out of habit)….
