An unexpected two days off

Well, it's been a quieter two days than I was expecting. Yesterday, made it as far as the station at Royston, and got a phone call from the person I'd be working with, saying not to come in. (She'd been initally unable to get through the weather!) This was then followed with a call to work where I was supposed to be today, and their current bad weather plans include working from home and local staff, so I wasn't to go in today either. Yesterday, I had a quick trip into town, and it was more or less deserted.

It's been an odd one. I'm taking amitritypline to counter the perking effects of the steroids,but finding they are making me more tired during the day – like they did before – and upset, plus my tummy joined in too. Never mind, now relaxing after a bath!

I'm typing this out on the new Acer mini netbook, as the PowerMacG4 was refusing to boot up at all yesterday. Seems that they both did the same conking out overnight – Caroline suspects it was a power surge...

Hello Elaine!

I was previously up to 2 Amit. pills, but I stopped taking them after feeling tired. I then was prescribed one of them, as required i.e. not taking every night.

I think that med you mention sounds familiar. However, I shall need to wait a little while before going back to see the doctor, and I will certainly mention it. I need something to help me sleep when I cannot sleep, and the amit. doesn't always do that. Also, it has more unwanted side effects, which is why I ceased those in the first place.

i take the chlopromazine at night, i also take zopiclone to help sleep, but it's supposed to only work for a few weeks - or perhaps they just haven't studied long term use of it. anyway, i have been on it for years, and periodically attempt to come off it... to no avail. sometimes there seems to be a good time and i halve the dose for a bit, but then stuff happens and i find i have to go back up a dose.

heh! i hardly ever nap in the day but have just done so. i do find it disorientating.

Yes, they say not to nap for more than half-an-hour, but sometimes, it takes me that length of time to settle down!

In the meantime, sometimes I just have a quick 10-20 mins lying down on the bed, which seems to do me more good.
