A Wednesday in Cambridge & Haverhill
Aug. 1st, 2007 09:04 pmI had an idea for dinner - needed to find a Sainsbury's that was easy to get to by bus in the Cambridge area - and I'd not been to Haverhill at all yet. So, that gave me plenty of scope!
Left Royston, went into central Cambridge, and spotted a 'generic' liveried Park & Ride bus - one of the new Enviro400's. The green and red ones are presumably to follow. (Currently you can see two colour schemes on the Enviro's, and the Tridents come in old blue, old green, old red, pink, or sand/gold - so six or seven different sights on three routes, plus the corporate swoops!)

No, despite looks to the contrary, it is not just a monochrome picture of one of the blue ones! The bus is best described as silver and gunmetal grey. I like this comment on the left-hand side of this shot - wasn't something similar used by Manchester MetroShuttle with the electric bus?

So, anyway, I went for a loop around from Cambridge to Haverhill on the 16 via Cherry Hinton, Balsham and West Wickham, and then returning on the 13/13A via Linton, Great Abington and Addenbrookes Hospital, before getting the bus back to Royston. I took a few pics of myself on the 16, and I liked this one best...
