Walkabout In Royston
Apr. 16th, 2007 11:55 pmCaroline left for work shortly before 0900, and left me some keys if I needed to head out anywhere. As we are heading into London tomorrow evening, I kept it local, and had a walk up to Royston Tesco. It wasn’t long before I walked out onto Old North Road, and saw a familiar vehicle – former London United DR117! The bus is still in full London United livery, apparently on loan from them to a local engineering company called Johnson Mathey of Royston. Anyway, I had some time around Tesco, before walking back to Caroline’s flat with some goodies! I’d planned to do something a little bit different – a cross between “cooking from scratch” and “ready meal”… well, it went down well, and the wine that followed did equally well… Caroline seems to like Spanish reds, and I did quite well to find one that she liked (if truth be told, it was placed right next to the one she already had!). We then had a night to ourselves… and we had a very enjoyable evening of it. It’s that sofa again! You see, after tomorrow, I will be heading north-east for a few days away – so, tonight was the last chance I’m going to have to spoil her, until Saturday. Lets just say, we made the most of it!
Caroline had a phone call in from another friend called Michael, in which he mentioned the Translondon meetings (next one due this coming Tuesday). It was after she’d put the phone down that we decided that this would be an interesting visit… after all, the last train back to Royston isn’t until a few minutes after midnight…
