T-28 - Dundee back to Royston

I left the house in enough time, but had a few bags… so cheated, and called a cab! I hoped that the return trip was to be slightly easier, and it was, because (for a start) there was no need to change coaches (in Glasgow) on the 590. The coach was Bruce’s BC 51 NAT, and we got into Glasgow in time to have a chat with Bobby about recent developments, and he also showed me off his new car – bought last weekend at the car auction off the M8 near Bailieston somewhere.
Anyway, here is a picture of our Bova at Keele Services – perhaps the only services that I’ve not snapped a coach at this year!

We got to London shortly before 30 minutes late. This service is single-crewed, and as such, doesn’t appear to have enough time this year, based on new drivers hours. We have to make a 15 and a 30 minute stop to make up the time with one driver. Perhaps in time for next year’s timetable, can the running time on this service be reviewed, to make it more achievable? The driver did well with handling the coach to ensure a timely arrival was made, as others have driven differently and ended up later.
It was a simple enough task to cross over Elizabeth Street, from Victoria Arrivals to Departures. Finally, last leg of the journey from London to Cambridge – we left Victoria with me as the only passenger. The irony was not lost on me, despite many hours of travelling! (We had seven by Stratford, however). A passenger at Aldgate did mention that a previous coach had driven past him without stopping – another one oversold, by any chance?
Caroline was there to pick me up at Trumpington – around 51 hours after she’d dropped me off the first time.
Happy, but knackered.
