The surgery have said that the results from the recent swab and samples (see last week) are ok... so that's hopefully the end of that... but what caused the issues in the first place, if it wasn't an infection? (the samples were both done before the antibiotics had a chance to get to it!)

Dilation seems to come and go at the moment - sometimes easier than others.

Re my current medication, even I am starting to get a bit confused, so I’ve decided to type it all up for my own records anyway. It’s perhaps easiest if I put it like this..


CURRENTLY TAKING
Co-Amoxiclav 250/125 (Antibiotics) – 3 per day
Prescribed 21 pills only from 01/11/07 to 08/11/07
Prescribed by Royasia Surgery for suspected infection. To stop after end of current supply.

Estardiol Valarte 2mg (Synthetic Hormones) – 2 per day
Prescribed by Westgate Health Centre following letter from Sandyford

Dydrogesterone 10mg (Synthetic Hormones) – 1 per day
Prescribed by Westgate Health Centre following letter from Sandyford

Fexofenadine Hydrochloride 180mg (anti-histimines) – 1 per day
Prescribed by Westgate Health Centre

Ranitidine 150mg (to assist with absorption of anti-histimines) – 1 per day
Prescribed by Westgate Health Centre

Seretide 250/25 Inhaler (preventative asthma inhaler) – 2 puffs x2 per day
Prescribed by Westgate Health Centre

Tramadol Hydrochloride 50mg (overnight painkiller) - As required, but generally 1 per evening/night
Prescribed by Sussex Nuffield Hospital
Plan to discontinue these on completion of current supply, subject to circumstances

Vividene Douche [formerly Betadene] – One capful added to bottle, three times per day
This is to be taken for three weeks, and will be stopped upon completion of current bottle
Prescribed by Sussex Nuffield Hospital



CURRENTLY TAKING AS REQUIRED

Paracetemol 500mg or Co-Dyrdramol 10/500 (painkillers) – 1 or 2 as required, maximum 8 in 24 hours
Salbutamol 100mg (reliver inhaler) – as required
Sodium Cromoglicate 10ml (eye drops) – as required
Aquagel (lubricant for use during dilation) – as required
Hibiscrub 4% (steriliser) – as required
Anusol Suppositories (for anal bleeding) – as required
Sudocrem (barrier cream) – as required
Movicol sachets and/or lactulose (bulking agents) – as required, former is no longer daily



NOT CURRENTLY TAKING
Escitalopram 10mg (Anti-depressants) – 1 per day
Taking this dose up to 23/10/07 then 25/10/07, 27/10/07, 29/10/07, 31/10/07 only (i.e. every second day)
Course of action agreed pre-surgery with Westgate

Ofloxacin 400mg (Antibiotic) – 1 tablet only for use on 29/10/07
This was a one-off tablet, given for use one hour prior to catheter removal.

Oxybutynin XL 10mg (Antispasmodic) – 1 per day (was 3 per day)
Taking this dose until 21/10/07
Suspended while in hospital, due to retention difficulties
Not restarted once out of hospital, as still with catheter until 01/11/07
Planned to remain off this for as long as possible

Finastride – 1 per day
This was stopped prior to surgery, and not recommenced due to minimal effects.
