Me, my friends, and my fanny...
Nov. 23rd, 2007 05:01 pmIt has been an interesting last few days.
On Wednesday, I'd booked an appointment to see the nurse at the local surgery. Having had very little sleep didn't help with a bad start to the morning, and when the nurse asked me to come back later to see the doctor instead, it was looking like the day was going to go worse. After a series of discussions with one nurse and one doctor, waited for Liz H from Nuffield to phone them back, and I went away with scripts for antibiotics (to cure a fairly strong infection, which had spread despite all hygiene measures), and an ointment (which in the end, was only another antibiotic). After getting these, returning home, afternoon in, then out in the evening. We stopped at
auntysarah and
the_local_echo's place on the way north, just as the latter was returning. I wasn't sure that this was just granulation tissue, and in fact, it looked like a little of the skin was coming away. Sarah took a pic, which was loaded onto a usb stick after being enlarged onto their Mac desktop... one of the slightly surreal moments so far, as the two of them and my Caroline stood there looking at it on the big new cinema screen display on their new Mac... As I'd already got the 'People Who've Seen My Fanny Today' count up to five at this point, as Sylvia said, all dignity had gone! LOL but true. We then made it to Jayne A's place for the evening, with the lame excuse that 'Sorry we're late, I had a camera stuck up my fanny...'
We got home in the last few seconds before midnight into Thursday, which was spent mostly in, but also with a lot of background stuff being done on the Mac. You see, today, Friday I have been out posting letters and getting tickets organised for tomorrow. I'm taking Caroline away for the weekend! Some of it is to be expected, but there are still some surprises. We're going south - yes, further south still! After finishing this, I will be going for my second Hide The Stent of the day, and then Caroline should be in soon after. She is doing dinner for us, Mr Tesco should be arriving soon after, and assuming he does, I've got an idea for supper... and after that... who knows what the weekend has in store? Well I do, but that's not the point!
