Oh yes, it's our 'friends' at LUL-hell again.

You see, the Mail on Sunday last weekend ran an article on the woman behind the recorded announcements that you hear on the London Underground (mind the gap, this is a Victoria Line train to Seven Sisters, etc.) Emma's website had recently been updated, and now included a substantial selection of spoof audio announcements, to listen or download in MP3 format. Despite being clearly marked 'spoof', the MoS couldn't resist the urge to misquote them all (without adding a tagline about the McCanns, house prices, or 'think of the children'. Yet).

So, Transport for London have said somewhere (and I cannot, for the life of me, find where) "they told the press they thought I was "silly", that I shouldn't be "slagging off" my clients and that future contracts with them were experiencing "delays". " (Quote from Emma's 'comment is free' piece on Guardian Unlimited).

TfL apparently now have not called her back, and there appears to have been an unofficial campaign for her reinstatement - although it's not quite clear if TfL have decided to fire her - if you can fire a freelancer. Ken Livingstone was last heard of in India, so no comments from him either.

But, in the spirit of all true bus wars, Emma's blog today says that she will be doing a appearance on The Russell Brand Show this weekend, and will be doing some new spoofs... which will then be downloadable from her website afterwards! Have a look here.

It's a pity those tube PA's don't work on a wireless LAN... imagine the 'fun' that could be had... if fun were allowed.
