Re surgeries – two different friends are now recovering from two different surgeries.thebustocrookes was due to have his today. Jenni A has had hers, and despite a delay in getting to theatre (or should that be theater over there in the states?), she is now recovering at home.
Caroline hadn’t found her birthday gifts for tomorrow, but after I was out to the shops for the last of it, I finished packing up her birthday gifts (as well as the hand-made card), and placed it in a carrier bag ‘up high’. To explain where they were, they had been stashed in a Sainsbury’s bag at the end of the guest bed, in the gap between the bed and the bookcase!
As I promised to pamper her tomorrow, I prepared dinner for the both of us this evening… with a hot spicy chili. As Caroline can’t eat kidney beans, I replaced these with BBQ beans, and added some extra spice into the mix, as well as green peppers. I cooled mine down a bit with some sour cream, and made it with white rice. She enjoyed it very much (I think I could be onto something here), following it up with strawberries and Quark (a low fat cheese made with skimmed milk, whisked in a bowl with a tiny spot of milk, and a few dots of liquid sweetener). This makes for a rather nice, but very low fat (and low-calorie) desert. I’d been filled with the chili!
